EVE online

Journal Entry: Thu Dec 24, 2009, 5:14 AM
So I've found a copy of EVE online deluxe edition at a shop near home, and since the price was quite affordable, I bought it. I haven't installed the game yet but I already am full of questions, so if there are EVE online players among you my dear watchers, I'd love to know so that we can meet online and in case you're available, we can chat from time to time. I warn you, I'll pummel you with questions so please be patient with me :)
On the other hand my VIP pass which was included in the package allows me to offer free trials, so if you want one please let me know. As soon as I manage to understand how it works, I'll get back to you.

Lucca Comics & Games 2009

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 2, 2009, 2:13 PM
So I'm back from the exhausting, glorious weekend in Lucca Comics & Games 2009, italy greatest convention dedicated to games and comics.
All the time I've been in the games area, where lots of great experiences happened in two days.
First, Ben Lehman's Polaris Italian Edition (deluxe) was released, with my illustrations together with Artzybasheff's. To see what I mean, check my recent pictures. It's been great, and all people were very kind and warm to me. It feels strange to be the only illustrator of the two still alive, though...
Second, we finished the second printing of Fred Hicks' Don't Rest Your Head Italian edition. We're off for the third printing!
Third, Janus Design won best Best of Lucca Games with Don't Rest Your Head's supplement Don't Lose Your Mind, italian edition. I'm so proud of being part of the Janus group!

Also, I've been spending lots of money in games (yay! Semel in anno licet insanire!). The italian editions of Nathan Paoletta's Annalise and Seth Ben Ezra's Dirty Secrets by Narrattiva are simply astonishing, With Annalise possibly being the best graphic work I've ever seen in any rpg.

And then a small highlight on Bruno Faidutti's boardgame Ad Astra [link] which I've just finished trying ad was incredibly quick to understand and fun to play. I already knew Faidutti's Mission Red Planet and loved it, but Ad Astra is possibly even better!

Thanks to everyone who came!!

Hello, I'm still alive.

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 21, 2009, 2:57 PM
Just kind of busy on various projects and a real life that is leaving me little time even just to draw.
For your interest, I'm developing a game of my own. Yessir, that's what I've been working on as well as some art for the italian edition of a really cool roleplaying game (it's kinda too soon to say which one, please accept my apologies).

I hope I'll be able to upload new art soon. Sorry for those who look forward to see some new stuff. It's great to have your support.

So have a great day folks!

Something I felt like pointing

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 12, 2009, 1:23 PM
I was talking about drums with a friend of mine who is also a drummer, speaking about which are to be considered great drummers. Both don't like some mainstream artists considered like demigods by the majority of people, like Portnoy. Then the subject drifted on which we considered great drummers and he told me about this Derek Roddy I didn't know.
Here's a video of his drum solo session. Go jawdrop, people, you have all rights. He's doing octaves with ONE HAND. --> [link] <--
Do you have a favorite drummer? If so, is there anywhere in the net where I can find a solo session of him, like on youtube?
Please let me know, I'm in a very drum-oriented period :)

Lady Blackbird

Journal Entry: Sat Jun 27, 2009, 4:42 AM
Usually I'm not the kind of person who would advertise things unrelated to art here, but I just stumbled upon this roleplaying game, and I found it simple and brilliant. A playtest will be done pretty soon. Suffice to say that I have never stumbled upon a steampunk rpg (which is a setting I totally love) which was also a good game per se. I've always encountered bad, incoherent rules settings, or old style crap where you have rules that make you roll dice when you blow your nose, all at GM's discretion. Since I'm really tired of that kind of games, I don't even consider them anymore.
So while I was looking for another thing, I stumbled upon this Lady Blackbird, which is a scenario rpg where all you need is to read the 15 pages it is made of. Yeah, most people are still used to the idea that 300 pages rulebooks are normal, which is totally wrong, also because that kind of rulebook never tells you how to play, and the GM is above the rules. Disfunctional, to say the least. You only see that in rpgs, never in, say, chess or poker. If you need to break the rules to enjoy a game, then the rules aren't good, it's just that much easy.

Ok, back to Lady Blackbird. So it's steampunk, it's only 15 pages and it's free, so ain't it worth a try?
Download it from here and let me know if you loved it as much as I did -> [link] <-
